A I had the same question. I did a little digging and found that by working with the app on my Android, I could set the app to acknowledge incoming calls and messages, etc. I tested by calling my cell and it DID acknowledge a call and the number. You do nothing with the dots in the bubble, but it's all in the app (VeryFitPro). Good luck!

A Yes. It reads just like a standard watch. You link to your phone so the time sets from your phone.

A Yes. The screen won't stay on. You just select your activity and Everytime you tap watch it automatically stays in that mode till you stop it. You can also use the app to track your results. Plus, you can go-to goggle maps to see your map. Hope this helps.
